Last week I met up with Kim and Ciara. They will be taking on the Galway Bay 10km race on October 7th. I will be meeting them on Monday for a running workshop just to find out what areas they need to work on. I know from talking to them that they have run some 5km races in the past.
If you are interested in running the “Streets of Galway” in August now is the time to start looking at a training plan. If you need any help or advice with that please get in touch.
Yesterday was “Global Running Day”. Technically everyday is a running day. Despite the rain I got out for 2.5 miles on the prom and got to test out my new runners.
On Tuesday I had my first cupping and acupuncture session with Bernie Doyle. I’ve had a bit of pain in my left hip since January and I’ve also had pain in both calf muscles. No amount of resting or stretching has helped the pain.
I decided to see if acupuncture could help with the matter. It certainly seems to have eased the pain in my legs. I’m still going to be focussing on how I can prevent any further injuries.
Next week is bike week. Checkout www.bikeweek.ie for details of events taking place in your area.
I’m still aiming to run the Athenry a.c. Half Marathon on June 24th, I haven’t really run more than 5km in any one session so I will be looking to increase my miles over the weekend.
If you are looking for a casual 5km run please check out your local Parkrun.
