come-this-far

If you haven’t already started making plans and setting goals for 2017 now is the time to start doing so.

I’ve been toying with some ideas for the last 6 months. I seem to have a pretty good plan in place in both business and sporting activities.

When it comes to goal setting it is important to remember a couple of things.

The goal should be personal.  It doesn’t matter how crazy it sounds you should still have some sort of interest in the goal after 3 months.

When it comes to challenges I tend to look at them and think “what do I need to do to make this possible?”.

Breaking down your goal into short, medium and long term can help you stay on track by reviewing where you are in terms of achieving your goal.

On Saturday I hit the 1400 mile mark of my 2016 mile challenge.  It has been on my mind a lot lately as to how many miles I still have to cover.

I’ve thought about giving up on the goal, putting the feet up and being nice and fresh for 2017.

I’ve also looked at how many miles per day I need to clock up and how much time is required.

I’m still feeling fairly fresh and I’ve been clocking up a few 7.5 mile runs.

As if I needed reminding I received an email today from the guys at the four provinces challenge.  I have one more race to complete in Munster  before the end of the year in order to receive a medal. I plan on doing this at some stage after Christmas.

If you are looking for an idea for a stocking filler why not purchase one of my gift vouchers and help someone get their 2017 off to a great start.

I am planning on holding some “proper running technique “ workshops in January.  Keep an eye out for more details on them.
